Todd earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Tragically (or serendipitously), Todd graduated at the peak of the dot-com crash, in the Silicon Valley / Bay Area, and was unable to get a job that would utilize his engineering background. He then moved back to Boulder, and began toying with graphic and web design software, taking on small, starter projects as they came up. Fast forward a decade, and his hobby has morphed into a career, and his diploma has morphed into an origami swan on his desk. Todd and his daughter live in Longmont, CO.

After graduating with a B.A. from CU Boulder, Hilary explored various parts of the world before returning to Colorado. She started as a designer at DD9 6+ years ago, but is now focused on building and maintaining sites as DD9's primary front-end developer.
DD9 is a professional branding, web design and web development firm based in Boulder, Colorado.
The company was founded under the trade name ‘DesignDivine’ by Todd Dumas in 2001. DesignDivine functioned mostly as a ‘one-man-shop’ until the first programmer was contracted in 2007. At this point, the scope and complexity of DesignDivine projects expanded rapidly with a tilt toward web development.
In 2010, Hilary Clarcq was recruited to increase service capacity and extended graphic illustration capabilities. Hilary is currently a DD9 principal and front-end web developer.
In 2011, after a decade in business, DesignDivine outgrew its name and rented office space and began a transition to a hip new studio with a hip new brand name, DD9. In 2016, we purchased our studio space, giving DD9 a permanent base of operations in ‘NoBo’ (North Boulder).
In 2017, we hired Ryan Linstrom as senior brand strategist and UX/UI designer and expanded our network of contractors/specialist, extending our service offerings further into branding, marketing and copywriting.
Looking forward, DD9 expects strong growth as we take on increasingly sophisticated application development projects and large scale branding and marketing campaigns.
