WordPress Development Techniques

WordPress Training
Training session is included in project scope, and retainer will cover additional training as required.  Style guide will be minimal, its simply not needed.  We will customize the WordPress dashboard to lock down input data, and master styles will be programmatically applied to the front-end.  Once we setup this system, it is quite hard to break.

WordPress Multisite System Upgrade
Following site launch, we can begin work on planning the multisite franchise (or similar) system upgrade.  This will require tiered permissions, broadcast content, admin oversight; all features of WordPress system. We can deliver a Multisite powering many websites from single WP install, relational database of products, programs, events, etc.

Technology Warnings
Be wary of the following systems/technologies which may be proposed by other firms.

Proprietary CMS’ – Five years ago, most CMS’ were built from scratch.  Many of those firms have gone out of business, leaving their clients with aging, unsupported technologies.

Drupal CMS – We have built Drupal websites, and have seen some good Drupal sites built by others, but the system is far too large and difficult to maintain for most small businesses or organizations.  Appropriate for use with in-house webmaster.

Joomla! CMS – Unfriendly platform for designers and developers, this system is primarily used by semi-professional website “factories” to mass produce sites.
